We have a number of Wild Brown trout areas in less than ½ hour. We believe in Catch and release fishing.
Carl Coleman has been involved in fly-fishing since the mid forties. He has been interested in improving fly fishing for those that endeavor in this great sport he has worked with the DEC to improve regulations to get more and better quality fisheries.
Carl has designed a number of very versatile fly patterns one of which is: Coleman’s March brown Nymph and Coleman’s Hendrickson Nymph. He has a number of cut or burned wing patterns include the Sulfur dun, Hendrickson dun and Blue Wing Olive dun. He has a number of spinner patterns Sulfur male and female also Hendrickson spinner pattern all of these are unique in that the design lets the body sit in the surface film giving the fly a better profile. The Coleman’s Lt. early Caddis is a great cut wing pattern. For later season Coleman’s shucking midge pupa.
All of these fly patterns are in “ Trout Flies of the East” by Jim Schollemeyer and Ted Leeson
Carl has a designed a great trico spinner pattern in the past two years and with the help of his soninlaw guide Jay Peck this pattern has up the catch ratio by two times.
